November 6th

It’s November and the world outside is beautiful with the colors of Fall. It is a time and season when we are reminded to be thankful, and we do indeed have a lot to be thankful for. I encourage you to think about the things you are thankful for and talk about them as a family. I am thankful for the material blessings God has given me, my job, my family, my health, and so much more.

Everything we list that we are thankful for is a gift from God and not just a gift but a responsibility. Psalm 24 reminds us that everything belongs to God; we are stewards of the gifts and blessings He gives us. To be good stewards, we must have love. Colossians 3:14-15 says, “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”

The love of God overflows to us and shines through us. We have been given many gifts as tools to help us love one another. When all of God’s people are shining His light of love, we are a city on a hill shining His light into the darkness. Our greatest act of love is pointing others to the source of love, Jesus. May this season of thankfulness find you being loved with the love of Christ by your brothers and sisters of the Kingdom.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, We come before you with thankful hearts for all the blessings You have given us. Help us to be good stewards of these blessings by sharing them with love. May all we say and do point others to you. In Jesus’s name we pray, Amen
